InvitationThe Greek Chess Composition Committee and the Chess Club of Koridallos, with the support of the Greek Chess Federation, have the honour to invite all delegates of the FIDE Permanent Commission for Chess Composition (PCCC), national teams and individual solvers, chess composers and all those interested in problem chess, to attend the 50th World Congress of Chess Composition (WCCC) and 31st World Chess Solving Championship (WCSC). The Congress will be held from Saturday 13th October (arrival) to Saturday 20th October, 2007 (departure) at the Olympic Palace hotel in Rhodes, with the WCSC on Tuesday and Wednesday, 16th and 17th of October. Getting thereThe Olympic Palace hotel is located in Ixia, in the island of Rhodes, just 12 km from the airport of Rhodes and 5 km from the town. Transportation from/to the airport (or the harbour) and the venue should be arranged by the participants themselves. The hotel stands just 50 meters away from the beach of Ialyssos Bay, set in colourful gardens and it has four swimming pools, including one children's pool and one indoor. It comprises 750 beds within 338 spacious guest rooms on 8 floors. A lot of sporting activities are available (floodlit tennis court, mini-golf, children's playground, gym, sauna), there are four bars for evening entertainment, as well as various shops including a supermarket / newsagent, hair-dressing salon, rent a car and bike. The surrounding area provides within all amenities, cafés, restaurants and bars. The Convention Centre Hall seats 350 persons in theatre style or 250 in classroom, it is column-free with 4m high ceiling and supported by lots of meeting rooms. All rooms have sea and/or garden view, balcony or terrace, shower with WC, air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, radio, direct dial phone, mini-bar and room-safe. These prices remain the same 3 days before and after the congress for the participants only.
The participation fee for those not staying in the hotel is 120 EUR and includes registration, the congress material and participation in the solving and composing tournaments. Excursion and closing banquet are additional and at the discretion of participants.
